I am very pleased to announce that Mark MacKenzie will be joining the Bedford Academy teaching staff this September. He will step into the role of our Physical Education and Technology teacher along with many coaching duties.

Mark graduated in May from St. Francis Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics with First Class Honour's. He majored in Kinesiology with a Minor in Mathematics. Mark returned to X for a fifth year taking courses in advanced biomechanics, engineering physics, and biomedical engineering.

Mark played Varsity Basketball with the X-men since 2002 and worked at summer basketball camps for Saint Francis Xavier Varsity Head Coach and former Canadian Olympics Men's Coach, Steve Konshalski. For the past four years Mark has volunteered in the Antigonish Minor Basketball program as a coach. He brings with him, an impressive wealth of basketball knowledge and skill. We are indeed very fortunate to acquire someone with his athletic background and range of experience as a member of our teaching staff.
